Title: Top 5 sensible and affordable classics

Here's one that's bound to be subjective and debatable.
Unless your loaded and can afford DB5's and 250GTO's your probably running or aspiring to run an affordable classic.
My Idea of an affordable classic is something the working man or woman can run without bankrupting themselves, so therefore affordable parts, affordable insurance, decent economy, plentiful parts supply and reasonable purchase prices are all to be taken into consideration.

Mine are :-

5 MGB

4 Triumph Herald / Vitesse

3 "Moggy Thou"

2 Original Mini

1 Triumph Spitfire

The future classic 5 are:-

5 Original Golf GTi

4 Porsche 924

3 Peugeot 205 GTI

2 Ford XR3i

1 BMW 3 series e30

I'd have to say the SD1 was already a classic :wtn: I'll have to think of mine tmoz, my brain is too fuddled from looking at the Escort today, :SHD:

my choices are :

5 triumph acclaim

4 triumph herald/vitesse

3 cortina mk5

2 triumph 2000/2500

1 triumph dolomite

this based on the cars that i like, sure there are cars cheaper to keep on the road
but you have actually got to like them.

Yup but which one is the most affordable to own, Bearing in mind rising costs in fuel and parts supply heading into the future. Mind you Rimmers do the SD1 parts don't they.
