If I get road tax on (it ran out today, as did my bank balance) in time I will be there. I swear, if it's not one thing it's another when it comes to the chippy meets and my attendance!

If I can't get this stupid exhaust to stop blowing for more than 5 miles, you'll probably hear me coming when I set off. Stupid car.

You can patch small holes with exhaust jointing paste. Obviously bigger ones might be an issue...

Plus, O-serieses don't sound THAT bad!

it's the passenger side manifold to downpipe join that's blowing, partly because someone has bashed the flange around a lot in the past. Got new clamps on order, but they won't arrive before tomorrow. I'm probably going to squidge some more paste into the worst bit of it tomorrow and hope it's a bit quieter on the run over to Sheffield... we shall see. The exhaust itself is actually in excellent nick, but I think the clamp might be buggered, which is likely the cause of the problem.

I trust you'll be there in the Monty?

About 6.15 it looked like it was brightening up but now it's nearly time to take off the car cover it's p*ssing it down again and I don't really fancy a 35 mile round trip and parking up with no weather gear on the car, sorry maybe next time sad.gif

On a more positive note just realised it's VAT free voucher night at Machine Mart in Donny..... cool.gif

I liked the look of Angyl's Princess in the metal - it's far tidier than pics suggest. But that exhaust needs seeing to... and hopefully next time it won't be quite so wet!

This is the first meet I've got to for bloody ages thanks to a variety of events. This time it wasn't in the Polo, but the first outing for the Princess.

Got to the rendezvous point at Meadowhall Retail and was followed in by Sam in his Montego. Looked like we were the only ones there and we toddled off to Tanyard after waiting for quarter of an hour. Gave me a chance to get some snaps of our two old British cars.

Sam's Montego is shockingly tidy and while he did point out a couple of cosmetic flaws, I really wouldn't have noticed them had he not pointed them out.

With my exhaust blowing bad enough to make the Princess sound like an aeroplane inside and a tractor outside, the going was a bit tough. Steamy windows, no low down power thanks to the exhaust, no intermittent wipe on the wipers and traffic meant it was a bit of a battle at times, but we got to Tanyard eventually. Just as well I had Sam to follow too since I realised when we got into Rotherham that I've never actually been to the Tanyard shopping precinct before.

Fingers crossed for the next meet to be drier and for my exhaust to have been fixed.

It didn't sound like a tractor Angyl, more like an impending apocalypse from my perspective! Didn't realise you were also lacking intermittent wipe.

Was a good meet even if a quiet and short one.

Thanks for the comments on the Monty! Got out tonight to find that I'd made a mistake ordering cheapo replacement chrome for the bumpers - it's not adhered properly in one point and is thus bending sad.gif Hopefully I'll sort it before tomorrow's CCM photoshoot.
